Project discovery
First, we get to know you and establish your objectives. We conduct an in-depth site survey to assess your current lighting system and pinpoint the issues.
Design and planning
We design and propose options for lighting systems that significantly increase efficiency and offer impressive returns on investment. We then build the new fittings to order at our UK factory.
Installation and commissioning
Our teams of qualified, experienced engineers install and then commission the new lighting system. We plan this process with you to minimise disruption and optimise effectiveness.
Handover and through-life support
The last step of the process is to train all relevant personnel to use the new lighting system. All our products are subject to a five-year warranty; support is only a phone call away.

Your skilled and experienced project manager will draw up a programme to deliver the job smoothly. They coordinate designers, engineers, and sub-contractors, managing tenders as required on your behalf. They manage all budgeting, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QSHE) processes and are onsite for the installation and commissioning.
Throughout this process, we will consult you on every important detail to ensure your satisfaction. Your project manager is your single point of contact for the entire project.
You won’t have to deal with third parties or be distracted by minor concerns - your Thorlux project manager will handle everything on your behalf.

Retrofit projects will frequently use pre-existing Thorlux-designed LED circuit boards to maximise cost-effectiveness. We can also re-engineer and refurbish a luminaire’s chassis to keep it in service.

Thorlux SmartScan is a revolutionary wireless lighting management system that monitors energy performance and operational information for connected standard and emergency luminaires. This information is displayed on the password-protected SmartScan website which is accessible on any internet-connected device, providing deeper insights to help manage your site.
Energy consumption measurements are accessible for an entire installation, individual rooms, or each luminaire. Data is displayed in kilowatt-hours (kWh), cost, and corresponding carbon values. Where the prior energy usage for lighting is known the system will also display a cumulative total of achieved savings. The online portal supplies a lighting overview of your entire site.
SmartScan is a feature-rich system that can provide intelligent lighting management, status monitoring, occupancy profiling, reports on air quality, and much more. With the expanded SmartScan Analytics system, there is even greater scope for efficiency and improved well-being.
Using the lighting network to carry other service or asset communications removes unnecessary duplication, and installing specialist sensors, data loggers and volt-free contacts onto other assets enables the capture of data for analytics. The system can monitor gas, water, electricity, air quality, carbon dioxide levels, and more.

Measurement and verification services
Quality testing, guaranteed performance.
Thorlux conducts in-house testing to compare the performance of our luminaires with your old lights.
When the installation phase is nearing completion Thorlux will invite you to see a measurement and verification (M&V) test, checking the performance of the fittings we removed during the installation phase with that of your new luminaires.
We conduct this test at our in-house, LIA (Lighting Industry Association)-certified laboratory. This way, we can accurately measure power consumption and verify cost savings and energy reductions.

A carbon-neutral supplier
Thorlux Lighting has been carbon neutral since 2012 through a combination of measures. Company-wide initiatives such as energy use minimisation, self-generation through solar photovoltaic (PV) units, and renewable energy procurement have reduced Thorlux’s carbon footprint, whilst trees in our award-winning carbon offsetting afforestation project sequester the remaining carbon dioxide produced. Our carbon-neutral status is independently verified as per ISO 14064-1.
