Production Planner

Here at Thorlux Lighting we are looking to expand our team with a dedicated Production Planner who has an experienced and varied background within Planning and is looking to further strengthen and develop their skills. You will be required to control the execution of customer orders and related parts, for a given product range. Ensuring customers’ orders are performed in line with requested delivery date, coupled with maintaining stocks of agreed products – providing appropriate instructions to carry out the above to all departments concerned.

MAIN TASKS:

  • Ensuring that the execution of manufacturing orders, meets the customers’ requirements of the correct quantity and requested delivery date.

  • Providing a service to the sales office – supplying prompt and accurate replies to queries in respect of customer orders, also providing realistic lead-times for potentially new orders.

  • Expediting specific customer orders – ensuring promises related to the sales department are punctual, or advising sales of any problems that may arise.

  • Resolving production bottleneck issues, expediting internal manufactured parts or liaising with the Materials department for the progress of bought-out parts.

  • Liaising with Team Leaders and issuing instructions to the relevant work centres, in the form of work orders, or programmes.

  • Ensuring Manufacturing Orders for stock replenishment are performed and maintaining stocks against the agreed stocking policy.

  • Developing reports to analyse sales/manufacturing data in order to optimise production performance.

  • Implementing improved operational systems in the scheduling and production of Manufacturing Orders.

  • Liaising with Sales Order Planning to plan and reschedule Manufacturing Order schedules to match customer requirements.

  • Continuously maintaining and issuing accurate Manufacturing Order schedules and tracking systems to allow advance planning in the departmental manufacturing sections and provide delivery information for Sales Order Planning.

  • Monitoring and advising on the progress of specific Manufacturing Orders that need Technical or Quality approval before despatch.

  • Planning the phase in/out of in-house manufactured parts to minimize slow moving/obsolete inventory.

  • Observation of company Health and Safety regulations and encouraging others to do so.

  • Ensuring that equipment is properly used and maintained.

  • To assist in the New Product Introduction process, helping to ensure a smooth flow from design to manufacture.

Essential requirements:

  • Grade C or above in Maths and English.

  • IT literate.

  • Ability to work accurately, prioritise and remain calm under pressure.

  • A strong team player.

  • Experience in a Manufacturing Production Control environment is essential along with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.

Stores / Reach FLT Driver

We are looking for Stores/ Reach FLT Driver to join our busy Stores department control the storing and issuing of materials in and out of the Stores department, ensuring a fast and reliable service.

Main Tasks:

  • To promote good customer relations by ensuring a fast and reliable service.
  • Carry out your work in accordance with ISO 9001 procedures laid down for that job.
  • To maintain the smooth running of the department.
  • To work within the Company rules and discipline procedures.
  • To ensure that the department is kept suitably clean and tidy.
  • Picking parts to daily requirements and deliver to assembly locations.
  • Manual picking/packing from pick sheets.
  • To carry out all instructions issued by the Team Leaders.
  • You must ensure that all safety requirements are adhered to and follow the Company’s Health & Safety procedures at all times.

Essential requirements:

  • You must possess effective organisational and communication skills and have the ability to function well as part of a team.
  • To be fit and healthy as there will be some heavy lifting involved.
  • Must be literate and numerate and have neat handwriting due to the paperwork you will be required to complete.
  • PC literate (MS-Word, MS-Excel).
  • Previous Stores and/or Warehouse experience.
  • Reach Forklift Licence is essential.
